The global market demand for potato-based ingredients is not only high at the moment – it’s rising. Therefore, KMC has decided to invest heavily in our granules factory in Brande, Denmark.
“We are experiencing increased demand in the market, and we want to take advantage of that opportunity. This requires us to start the investment this year, and I am therefore pleased with the support from the board and our shareholders for the expansion,” says Jesper Burgaard, CEO of KMC.
About the factory
The expansion of the factory, which is expected to be completed in autumn 2026, is an important step for KMC. The factory, originally established in 2003, has since undergone several optimizations and expansions to meet the needs of a growing global food industry.
The existing factory in Brande produces both flakes and granules, which are used in a range of food products such as bread, snacks, breading, mashed potatoes, gnocchi, and croquettes. Demand for granules has increased significantly in recent years, and with this new investment, KMC will be able to double the capacity of granules, which is crucial to keep up with global demand.
Future-proofed production capacity
The expansion will not only increase production capacity but will also involve an upgrade of the existing production equipment and buildings. This helps ensure that the factory is equipped to meet any future needs for additional capacity and supports KMC's long-term growth strategy.
KMC has for many years been a pioneer in the development of sustainable potato-based ingredients, and with this investment, the company strengthens its position as a key player in the global market. The expansion of the Brande factory will not only create new growth opportunities for KMC but also reinforce KMC’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions to the international food industry.
